recordings and a playlist

Up to this point I have recorded one solo album “Sequatchie Valley,” two mighty albums (especially the most recent “Smoke Behind the Clouds”) with the Bucking Mules, and a brand spanking new scorcher of an album with the Blue Ridge Broadcasters. I’m proud of each of these recordings and feel like they chart my development as an artist. Over the last bit, I’ve also had the pleasure of contributing a handful of fiddle and banjo tracks to my Durham neighbor Hiss Golden Messenger. I’ve also partnered with fiddler/composer Cleek Schrey to create/engineer/record/produce sounds for a documentary film.

I’m currently working on two recording projects. The first is an exploratory project with Cleek Schrey, Luke Richardson, and some special guests. The second is a transitional Old-Time/Bluegrass project that grew out of some face-melting sessions at the Mt. Airy Fiddler Convention. We started recording in 2016 with Ken Landreth, Jim Nelson, Jim Collier, and Joe Dejarnette. We’re hoping to finish the project sometime in 2019.
